After 3 years of no beach vacations (Memphis was just too far), we were FINALLY able to return to the greatest place on earth........Dafauski Island. Dafauski Island is a small island off the coast of South Carolina (just across from Hilton Head Island). Over the years, our dear friends turned family, the Nollers, have offered their "retreat" to us. From the moment we left our cars on the mainland (no cars on the island), we have sensed that this wonderful place is a refuge for us. We literally leave everything behind as we travel on the ferry over to the island. So, the first opportunity we had to escape from the boxes, call schedule and new office, we were off to serenity!! Josh was able to spend a long weekend with us. It was so nice to be on a "normal" family vacation. For the last 3 years, our vacations have been traveling back to Georgia....which was good too :) . So, it was great to be together and celebrate God's provision for us!
As I drove Josh to the boat (via golfcart) I was so excited to pick up one of my dearest friends, Lisa Aaron, and her 3 boys, Don, Will and Ben. It was so much fun spending time with Aarons!! It is wonderful to have friendships that pick up right where they left off! What could be better than catching up over a glass of wine while listening to all six kids laugh and play, all to the sound of crashing waves!!
